Remembering Ethel Huffman

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Ethel Huffman, widow of the late Neil Huffman, founder of the Neil Huffman Auto Group. Ethel, affectionately known as "Apple" and “GiGi” to many, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 95.

Ethel was truly the "beating heart" behind one of Louisville's most recognized family businesses, partnering with Neil Huffman to build the Neil Huffman Automotive Group from the ground up in 1969. Beyond her contributions to the auto group, Ethel was celebrated for her unmatched generosity. Ethel made it her mission to bring joy to others, especially through the Neil Huffman Auto Group's annual Day of Giving, a tradition she hosted for over 20 years, bringing gifts, food, and happiness to thousands of children across Kentuckiana.

Ethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband Neil, sons Dow and Kip Huffman, and her siblings Emily Larsen and Graydon Theodore. She is survived by her daughter Kimberlee Huffman (Eli Sarmiento), her grandchildren; Shannon Huffman (Rick McCubbin), Shane Huffman (Kimber Huffman), Daniel Wolford (Bailey Wolford), Rylee Huffman (Josh Wells), Myreete Stanforth (Peyton Stanforth), Kameron Huffman (Erica Huffman), and her son-by-fate, Victor Saho.

Funeral services will be held at Pearson's (149 Breckenridge Ln, Louisville, KY 40207) on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10 AM, with visitation on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1-4 PM. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests feeding someone in need, or making a donation to St. Joseph Children's Home or the American Cancer Society.
