2023 Buick Encore GX

You can get an unbeatable price on a 2023 Buick Encore when you buy from Neil Huffman Buick of Frankfort, Kentucky.

Since their recent release, we have sold many of these cars. We still have plenty in stock for interested buyers, so take advantage now.

There are many reasons to love the 2023 Buick Encore GX. It could be the low price, excellent fuel economy, or just the spacious interior.

But there is still so much more to admire about this vehicle.

Easy to Operate

This is a car where the best features are only a button push away, such as when you open the panoramic moonroof to let the warm spring air inside.

Sometimes, you do not even need to push a button. If you are trying to load groceries or luggage into the trunk, you can take advantage of the hands-free power liftgate that will make filling up the 50 cubic feet of cargo space a breeze.

Good Handling Even in the Worst Road Conditions

Intelligent All-Wheel Drive technology ensures that this vehicle will stay steady on slippery roads.

Even on dry roads, cornering and acceleration can usually be tricky. But when you have Buick’s AWD technology on your side, then traction is maximized.

That traction is made even better with Buick’s StabiliTrak technology, which automatically monitors for and helps you correct vehicle control when you are starting to lose traction.

Sporty and Sophisticated Look

A black mesh grille with great red details makes the front look like a truly athletic SUV. The front and rear bumpers also have red accents.

In addition, the 18” aluminum wheels have Dark Android high-gloss inserts, giving them a special sheen.

Excellent Fuel Economy for an SUV

For an SUV that sits up to five, you can get great gas mileage.

This vehicle can reach 29/32 city/highway mpg when you choose the Front-Wheel Drive option.

With All-Wheel Drive, that will net you a 26/29 city/highway mpg.

Powerful Engines for High-Level SUV Performance

There are three 2023 Buick Encore GX trims that you can choose from: The Preferred, Select, and Essence.

The first two come with an ECOTEC 1.2-liter Turbo engine. This engine achieves 137 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 162 lb-ft of torque at 2500 rpm.

The last one, the Essence, comes with an ECOTEC 1.3-liter Turbo engine. This reaches 155 horsepower at 5600 rpm, and 174 lb-ft torque at 1600 rpm.

We congratulate each team member on a stellar year, and look forward to continued excellence in 2023 and beyond.

You do not need to be in the vehicle dealership business to know that it is a competitive field. American drivers love their cars—whether new or pre-owned—and consumer demand shows no sign of slowing! And in Kentuckiana, it’s no different.

Consumers have access to a huge variety of auto dealerships in their hometowns and across the country. It makes sense that when a customer chooses YOUR dealership, it is an accomplishment in and of itself!

So, when you win an award recognizing your family of dealerships as one of a select group of 48 dealer nominees across the country, then you can be sure you truly have arrived in the vehicle dealership space!

That’s exactly what happened when Neil Huffman Automotive Group‘s own Kimberlee Huffman received the honor of being nominated for the 53rd Annual Time Dealer of the Year Award

Jason Wilson, President of the Kentucky Automobile Dealers Association, nominated Kimberlee for this exciting honor.

Continuing a Tradition of Excellence

Kimberlee’s nomination is not the first time the Huffman name has been included in the TIME Dealer of the Year Awards. In 1993 Kimberlee’s father, the late Neil Huffman, also was named a TIME Dealer of the Year Award finalist in 1993.

See a portion of the 1993 article below:

We are so proud Neil Huffman Automotive Group has been nominated for this prestigious award more than once over the years. It is a privilege and an honor to be recognized among the nation’s most respected automobile dealerships in the nation once again.

Our commitment to excellence has been the core of our business approach from the very beginning. Thanks to our wonderful team, we are steadfast in our dedication to serving customers in Kentucky and Indiana with top-quality auto sales and service. That pledge continues both today and will do so in the years to come!

Three decades have passed since Neil A. Huffman’s nomination, our first national recognition as one of the best dealers in Kentucky and the Kentuckiana area. We gratefully accept Kimberlee Huffman’s recent nomination as proof that we still have that title.

The Winner of the 2023 TIME Dealer of the Year Award

On January 27, 2023, the TIME Dealer of the Year was announced as Gary Rome of Gary Rome Hyundai. We extend our warmest congratulations to this exceptional auto dealership.

Kimberlee Huffman was thrilled to receive a finalist trophy for the award—congratulations, Kimberlee!

At Neil Huffman Automotive, we understand that there are many “seasonal hazards” that creep up on the road during the winter months.

When driving in the winter, you are going to need to have a heightened awareness of both what is going on on the road and with your vehicle.

In times of inclement weather, it is recommended that you go out only if necessary, so read on for some things to keep in mind when you go out in the road during this winter season.

Remember the 4 P’s

Kentucky’s Department of Transportation outlines the 4 P’s to keep in mind:

  • Prepare your vehicle – Tire pressure lowers in the winter months because pressure and temperature are closely related. The cold slows air molecules, so they move closer together and take up less space as a result. Check tire tread with the “penny trick”: If Lincoln’s head is fully visible when stuck in the tread, then you need a replacement.
  • Plan your travel – Weather and road conditions can be discovered before you even hit the road by calling 511 in Kentucky (if out of state, call 1-866-737-3767). If you know the area you are driving, think of which roads you would like to avoid in case of sleet or snow.
  • Prevent crashes – You can do this by keeping your headlights on during the dim days, leaving plenty space between you and other cars, and remembering to slow down during a skid and steer where you want to.
  • Protect yourself in an emergency – move out of the way of traffic, mark your vehicle for aid with a raised hood or other visible signal such as emergency flashers, and contact the police if you can.

Slow Down, Stop Less, and Be Careful with the Gas Pedal

Getting stuck on an icy road or in snow can be a difficult experience, and you can avoid this by showing greater restraint in your driving habits.

When people see an icy hill, for example, the instinct is to step on the gas pedal and charge up. However, it is much more effective to ease off the gas and simply let your vehicle glide up the hill, provided you have enough inertia to do so. And slow down at the top, as the way down can be even more tricky.

The reason to lay off the gas is because ice and snow make it more difficult for your tires to achieve friction on the road, so trying to speed up can actually put you to an unwanted stop.

For this reason, it is also wise to only stop when you absolutely need to, as trying to gain inertia from a full stop in snow or ice can be a pain.

Also, stopping can be an occasion for skidding, and when you drive slower overall, you are less likely to run into this problem, as you can ease into stopping much easier.

2023 TIME Dealer of the Year

(New York, NY, October 18, 2022) – The nomination of Kimberlee Huffman, dealer principal at Neil Huffman Honda of Frankfort in Frankfort, Kentucky, for the 2023 TIME Dealer of the Year award was announced today by TIME.

Huffman is one of a select group of 48 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 106th annual National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show in Dallas, Texas, on January 27, 2023.

Kim Huffman TIME Dealer of the YearThe TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors. The award recognizes the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service. Huffman was chosen to represent the Kentucky Automobile Dealers Association in the national competition – one of only 48 auto dealers nominated for the 54th annual award from more than 16,000 nationwide.

“Like many family-owned dealerships, we consider our employees to be part of our family,” nominee Huffman said. “We believe in extensive training, consistent recognition and allowing individuals to flourish, which has resulted in long-term, sometimes multi-decade relationships with team members.”

A 1980 graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington where she earned a B.A. in communication, Huffman has spent her career at Neil Huffman Automotive Group, the company originally founded in 1969 by her father, Neil, with a single Volkswagen store in Louisville, Kentucky.

“As a second-generation dealer, I began in office management, titling and financials, then moved into communication, public relations and advertising for our first five franchises,” she said. “After the untimely passing of my father, I was well positioned to become the dealer principal at Neil Huffman Nissan in Louisville in 2007.”

In 2008, Huffman attended the NADA Academy to further her education and give her the tools she needed to run a successful dealership. “I was one of a few female dealer principals in the entire state of Kentucky,” she said. “I took a subpar franchise and improved each department to obtain top-level awards and profits. This success led to a profitable sale of the dealership.”

Today, she and her nephew, Shane Huffman, are managing partners, overseeing the Neil Huffman Automotive Group, which encompasses ten dealership locations in Frankfort, Louisville and Clarksville, Indiana, representing brands Acura, Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Volkswagen. Her late brother, Dow Huffman, who passed away in 2020, played an integral role in the growth of the company.

“While my father was a successful dealer with great standards and profitability, I used his leadership platform and made it stronger,” Huffman said. “With the input of each department manager, we implemented more streamlined and efficient methods, compelled tech evolution, developed training, boosted morale and brought in change consultants who helped turn the company into a streamlined growth driver.”

Huffman brings that same can-do spirit to the Kentucky Automobile Dealers Association, where she has served on the board of directors since 2011 was chair in 2021, vice chair in 2020 and treasurer in 2019.

“As the state’s first ever chairwoman, I worked with county clerks and state leaders to advance the use of new titling technology, as well as advocated with legislators to update tax laws similar to adjoining states and protect franchise laws,” she said.

Huffman also held leadership positions for the Greater Louisville Automobile Dealers Association, where she created multiple workshops for area dealer and their employees, as well as built momentum and attendance for the Louisville Auto Show.

While her dealership supports more than 50 community organizations, the one that means the most to Huffman is the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program, which provides transportation for cancer patients who need rides to and from cancer-related treatment sessions or medical appointments.

“This is personal because I was the sole caregiver and transportation provider for my mother, my older brother and my younger brother when they were each affected with different and rare forms of cancer in the last few years,” she said. “When I became aware of patients using taxis and public buses for transportation to treatment, I knew we had to do something.”

To that end, Huffman not only raises money for the cause but also uses her various platforms to mobilize volunteer drivers. “We are asking our customers to join us as we campaign within our dealership, on our website and digital formats for volunteers, and we are matching funds directed to the transportation access fund,” she said.

Other organizations that she supports include Dare to Care Food Bank; Crums Lane Elementary School (AdoptAClassroom.org program); Give for Good Louisville (online giving organized by the Community Foundation of Louisville); Supporting Heroes; The Salvation Army Angel Tree; Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana; Shamrock Pet Foundation; One Warm Coat; American Red Cross; Tiffany Circle; American Heart Association and many others.

Dealers are nominated by the executives of state and metro dealer associations around the country. A panel of faculty members from the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan will select one finalist from each of the four NADA regions and one national Dealer of the Year. Three finalists will receive $5,000 for their favorite charities and the winner will receive $10,000 to give to charity, donated by Ally.

In its 12th year as exclusive sponsor, Ally also will recognize dealer nominees and their community efforts by contributing $1,000 to each nominee’s 501(c)3 charity of choice. Nominees will be recognized on AllyDealerHeroes.com, which highlights the philanthropic contributions and achievements of TIME Dealer of the Year nominees.

“For over 50 years, TIME has been committed to recognizing the impact of automotive dealers on their communities with the TIME Dealer of the Year award,” said Edward Felsenthal, editor in chief and CEO, TIME. “We are proud to continue the legacy of honoring these works of service with our partners at Ally.”

Doug Timmerman, president of dealer financial services, Ally, said, “Auto dealers across the country who are nominated for this award each year are committed to not only doing it right and leading in a rapidly changing automotive industry but to strengthening their communities through giving back. The TIME Dealer of the Year program celebrates dealers who are the role models of the retail auto industry for their continuous efforts to lift up and support their employees, customers and communities.”

Huffman was nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year award by Jason Wilson, president of the Kentucky Automobile Dealers Association. She and her husband, Eliades Sarmiento, have four children.
