Cancer is near and dear to the hearts of the Neil Huffman Auto Group, as Managing Partner Dow Huffman passed away from skin cancer complications in September 2020.

Cancer has touched many members of Team Huffman, including late Managing Partner, Dow Huffman.

In honor of Dow, we are proud to announce that today, September 26th, we will be donating $100 to the Kentucky Chapter of the American Cancer Society for every new and used car sold at all our regional dealerships.

We love our community. One of the ways we support the Louisville area is by continuing to assist worthwhile organizations. One of those groups is Louisville Metro Animal Services.

No one likes to see homeless dogs and cats. When a stray animal is found, the place many people turn to is the Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS). This organization is committed to saving shelter animals by working hard to find loving homes for these adoptable pets. When you adopt a pet from LMAS, you are saving an animal in need in the Louisville community.

Adopting a shelter pet means you are giving that pet a new lease on life. When you are thinking of adopting a pet, don’t just think about adopting a puppy or kitten. Remember that there are amazing older dogs and cats – especially seniors – that truly deserve to live out the rest of their lives in loving homes. Read the rest of this entry »

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky, September 28, 2020—Neil Huffman Automotive Group is saddened to announce today that Managing Partner, Dow Huffman, died from complications of skin cancer.

Dow Huffman

Dow Huffman

Shane Huffman, Managing Partner said, “It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my uncle and colleague Dow Huffman. Dow has been with Neil Huffman Automotive Group since 1980 where he began his career as a salesman at the Volkswagen store on Dixie Highway. Under the leadership of his father, Neil, Dow helped grow the business to add new dealerships and to become one of the most recognized automotive groups in the region.”

Dow Huffman, age 62, devoted his life to the automotive industry and the Neil Huffman Automotive Group. He loved giving back and was always supporting the community he so loved. He was an avid supporter of UofL athletics programs as well as sponsoring city events over the years.

Dow was born to the late Neil Huffman and Ethel (Morey) Huffman on July 22, 1958, the youngest of their 3 children. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1976 and the University of Kentucky in 1980. Dow entered the family business shortly thereafter as a salesman where he learned everything he could about the industry. As more dealerships were added to the business, Dow took on a more integral role with the company and dedicated himself as the “behind the scenes leader,” ensuring the success of the family business.

Mr. Huffman is survived by his mother Ethel Huffman, sister Kimberlee Huffman Sarmiento (Eli), brother Kip Huffman, nephew and business partner, Shane Huffman (Kimber), daughter Rylee Huffman Wells (Josh), nieces Shannon Huffman and Myreete Wolford, nephews Danny Wolford (Bailey) and Kameron Huffman, longtime family friend, Victor Saho, and numerous members of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, on Wednesday, Sept 30th from 4-7 pm. A private family service and burial to follow Thursday morning.
